HUB2 has developed a robust and reliable payment infrastructure to facilitate the interoperability of payment methods present in its countries of operation to meet the payment needs of businesses (Mobile Money, bank card, bank transfer, etc.). To date, HUB2 integrates over 30 Mobile Money and bank networks, including the main ones (Orange, MTN, Moov, Mixx, Wave, etc.) and operates in 12 countries in West and Central Africa. HUB2's clients today include businesses, banks, neo-banks, Merchants, Insurers, and international transfer operators.

Context

As part of its growth strategy and facing the challenges of a rapidly changing fintech industry, the company is opening a Senior Networks Development Manager position. This key role is responsible for driving the integration of new markets and partners (MNOs, MMOs, banks) across Africa, while strengthening already established strategic relationships.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Senior Networks Development Manager will be responsible for structuring and strengthening strategic partnerships with major operators and partners, while overseeing the deployment of new payment channels.

Strategy

  • Participate in strategic discussions to prioritize expansion zones with the Partnerships Director and the General Management.
  • In each new country, create a mapping of useful contacts for HUB2 at all levels (Business development, support, Finance, Tech, legal, administrative, and banking service providers, etc.)
  • Participate in strategic meetings related to pricing grids and HUB2's commercial development.
  • Regularly monitor markets for pricing, new payment solutions, key functionalities, payment regulation, and competitors.

Partnership Development

  • In each zone, identify strategic partners, establish contact with them, and negotiate partnership contracts according to the needs to be addressed (local payment and collection, remittance, recurring payments, bank card, etc.).
  • Coordinate and support the creation/setup of subsidiaries and licenses in conjunction with the Legal/Admin/Finance and Risk & Compliance departments.
  • Manage the technical, legal, and commercial onboarding operations with each partner and HUB2's Engineering, Risk & Compliance/Legal, Customer Experience & Quality, Controlling, and Admin/Finance departments.
  • Ensure the handover of the operator relationship to HUB2's Customer Experience & Quality department prior to each launch.

Relations with Operators, Banks, Authorities

  • If necessary, support the development of the first clients in a zone.
  • Ensure ongoing commercial relationship monitoring and quarterly Business Reviews for live partners.
  • Provide support to operational teams to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Monitor and coordinate new product projects or updates to existing products and functionalities with the Product/Tech teams.
  • Annually, conduct discussions to renegotiate pricing conditions with each operator.
  • Maintain active relations and exchanges with local authorities, participate in events, and monitor regulations.

Profile required

Profile

  • Master's degree (Bac+5) from a business school, engineering school, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in partnership development or business development, ideally in a fintech company, financial services, strategy, or any experience demonstrating an analytical level of business management is a plus.
  • A first professional experience in Africa demonstrating an understanding of African business culture is necessary.

  • Ability to make informed decisions and solve problems effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Understanding of West African cultures and willingness to travel within the sub-region is a necessity
