HUB2 is a French fintech founded in 2019 by Ashley Gaüzère (Telecom 2004, ex Orange Middle-East Africa), joined in 2023 by Jean-Rémi Kouchakji (HEC 2013, ex-founder of PayinTech). Due to the lack of an inclusive and efficient banking system in Africa, the majority of payments are made via electronic wallets (Mobile Money) developed by telecom operators.
HUB2 builds the infrastructure that makes these payments interoperable with one another and with bank cards, transfers, or even crypto. We currently process more than €1 billion in annual transactions across 9 countries in West and Central Africa, by connecting over 30 networks (Orange, MTN, Moov, Wave, etc.). Our clients include neo-banks, payment aggregators, international money transfer operators, microcredit companies, and e-commerce merchants.
With 40 employees spread across Abidjan, Paris, La Réunion, and Mauritius, and an oversubscribed Series A fundraising in 2024, we are in hypergrowth and aim to become the single payment platform in Francophone Africa.
CONTEXT
As part of our hypergrowth, HUB2 is setting up an internal SOC (Security Operations Center), combining operational monitoring, technical supervision, traceability, and cross-functional analysis.
We are recruiting in Abidjan an Infrastructure Monitoring Engineer (junior accepted), working day/night shifts, reporting directly to the Monitoring Manager.
Profile required
The Monitoring Agent will be responsible for the following missions:
OPERATIONAL MONITORING – LEVEL 2
- Real-time monitoring of transactions and operational alerts
- Identification and first-level handling of transactional anomalies
- Rapid escalation to the relevant teams (Ops, Support, Finance)
- Application of incident procedures (playbooks) and monitoring of SLAs (detection, escalation, resolution times)
TECHNICAL MONITORING – PLATFORM HEALTH
- Monitoring the status of databases and servers (RAM, CPU, disks)
- First-level log analysis to investigate and contextualize incidents
- Monitoring infrastructure availability and performance using supervision tools (Grafana, Kibana, etc.)
TRACEABILITY & CROSS-FUNCTIONAL SUPERVISION (SOC)
- Cross-referencing technical and operational information to reconstruct event chains
- Production of incident reports and evidence in case of audits or compliance requests
- Participation in crisis response cells and post-incident investigations (“post-mortems”) and continuous improvement of the alerting system
ANALYSIS & REPORTING
- Monitoring incident trends and recurrences, and proposing preventive measures
- Production of regular reporting (daily/weekly) on monitoring activity and major incidents
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT & AUTOMATION
- Contribution to the optimization of monitoring dashboards
- Participation in the automation of certain tasks via simple scripts (Python, Bash, SQL)
- Collaboration with Product and Data teams on cross-functional projects
CUSTOMER SERVICE & COMPLIANCE
- Supporting operational teams with reliable and fast information in case of customer issues
- Providing logs and analyses to compliance/audit teams when required
POSSIBLE ADDITIONAL MISSIONS
- Participation in quality assurance (Q/A) testing on the platform
- Occasional contribution to technical and product projects
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Technical degree (engineering school, master’s degree, or equivalent). Junior profiles accepted
- Initial experience in IT monitoring and knowledge of supervision tools (Kibana, Grafana…), operations, support, or infrastructure is a plus
- Experience in fintech or exposure to the West African market is appreciated
SKILLS & SOFT SKILLS
- Ability to document, analyze, and manage an incident end-to-end
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (French mandatory, English B2 minimum)
- High level of rigor, strong organizational skills, fast execution
- Analytical mindset, technical curiosity, and a strong problem-solving orientation
- Ability to work in a demanding environment, with day/night shifts
CONDITIONS
- Contract: Permanent (CDI) or Fixed-term (CDD)
- Location: Abidjan, Riviera 4
- Working hours: day/night rotation + weekend on-call according to schedule
- Reporting line: Monitoring Manager
