Main Responsibilities:
As a Development Coordinator at World Aquatics, you will be responsible for coordination and implementation of the Scholarship Programme for Athletes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of aquatics sports worldwide.

As the Development Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the training and development pathways for international athletes, ensuring they have access to the resources and support needed to excel on the global stage. This role is integral to our mission of fostering excellence and inclusivity in aquatics sports.
You will report to the Development Manager - Scholarships based in Lausanne, Switzerland, work in collaboration with the Development Coordinator - Scholarships based in Budapest, Hungary and cooperate closely with international stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
World Aquatics Scholarship Programme Coordination:
• Coordination of the application process for the Scholarships Programme, including preparation of guidelines and communication about the opportunities to the Athletes and the National Federations.
• Leading the selection process of the World Aquatics Scholarship holders
• Providing all necessary assistance and guidance for National Federations and Athletes interested or/and selected for the programme.
• Collaboration with the Training Centres and/or Clubs to ensure a smooth onboarding process for Scholarship holders and throughout the programme implementation.
• Cooperation with Word Aquatics Training Centres, Clubs and other stakeholders to maintain high-quality training and improve the services provided to the Scholarship holders.
• Ensuring all necessary administrative tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Supporting, advising and guiding the Scholarship holders in their daily lives.
Programme Evaluation and Reporting:
• Ensure the implementation and follow up of the programmes’ monitoring framework.
• Establish an evaluation mechanism for the programmes.
• Provide quarterly and annual reports for the programmes or upon request.
• Provide proposals and suggestions for the development and improvement of the Scholarship Programme.
Logistics:
• Work closely with World Aquatics Training Centres to facilitate visa process and logistics for athletes’ travel, accommodation and training.
Athlete Support:
• Maintain professional relationships with the Scholarship holders, provide assistance and support to the athletes on any Scholarship related issues.
Financial and Budget Oversight:
• Manage invoicing, financial reporting, and budget follow-up related to the Scholarship Programme.
Miscellaneous Tasks:
• Assist with any additional tasks required to ensure the success of the Scholarship Programme or other World Aquatics Development Programmes, including event support, operational planning, and ad-hoc administrative tasks.
• Provide back-up support for other staff members when necessary, ensuring that the programme runs smoothly even during absences.
Profile required
Experience
Key Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, Administration, or a related field.
• Full proficiency with Microsoft Office and other digital tools.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required. Proficiency in additional languages (Hungarian, French and Spanish) is an advantage.
Experience and Skills:
• At least 3 years of administrative or project management experience, preferably in an international environment.
• Experience in managing multiple international stakeholders.
• Understanding and knowledge of all aquatics sports.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple geographic projects simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy in administrative tasks and reporting
• A proactive, solution-oriented approach to addressing challenges.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
• Flexibility in working hours, including occasional evening and weekend work for events or travel coordination.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Culturally sensitive with experience working with global stakeholders.
• Understanding of high-performance training environments and needs of elite athletes.
