Vates is a French software company specializing in virtualization, offering a credible alternative to proprietary solutions on the market. Our Vates VMS solution enables companies to manage their IT infrastructures in a simple, efficient, and controlled way.
The Alliance Integration Lead is responsible for managing the lifecycle of integrations between Vates VMS and technologies within the Vates ecosystem, with the aim of building complete, coherent and sustainable solutions that meet customer needs.
At the intersection of Product Management, solution integration and partner engineering, the Alliance Integration Lead works closely with technology partners, Vates Product and Engineering teams, as well as Sales, Presales and customers.
The role involves analyzing market and customer needs, identifying relevant technologies and partners, defining integration requirements, and driving their implementation. The Alliance Integration Lead oversees projects from initial requirements definition through validation, solution delivery and ongoing lifecycle management.
The Alliance Integration Lead also acts as the technical point of reference for third-party technologies within the Vates ecosystem. They support Sales, Presales and Solutions Experts when customer projects involve partner technologies, providing the technical information and support required to help successfully deliver these solutions.
Your Responsibilities:
The Vates integration portfolio
You will maintain, develop and promote a portfolio covering dozens of technology partners and integrations across the Vates ecosystem.
For each strategic technology or partner, you will understand:
-Which use cases are or should be supported and under which conditions;
-The maturity of the integration and important capability gaps;
-The target integration level and what is required to reach it.
You will maintain a clear and current view of compatibility and help prioritize where Vates should invest engineering and alliance resources.
The scope extends from silicon to workloads: compute, storage, backup and data protection, networking, cybersecurity, observability, automation, VDI, cloud-native infrastructure, enterprise applications and AI workloads.
Technical product management and integration
Many integrations are effectively products in their own right: connectors, plugins, drivers, providers, agents, APIs, configuration layers or automation. You will own their technical lifecycle.
Starting from a customer requirement, strategic opportunity or partner initiative, you will:
-Define use cases, requirements and specifications;
-Establish responsibilities between Vates and the partner;
-Coordinate implementation across engineering organizations;
-Validate and document the resulting solution;
-Manage compatibility and upgrades as Vates or partner products evolve.
Some integrations require substantial engineering by Vates or the partner. You must be technically capable of specifying the solution, challenging architectural choices and coordinating the relevant engineers.
Others can be solved more directly. You should be comfortable taking a hands-on approach and implementing the solution yourself when appropriate, by creating or adapting scripts, configuration and deployment artifacts using common environments and languages (YAML, JavaScript, Python, Shell, PowerShell, etc.)
Customers, field teams and partners
You will bring knowledge of the broader Vates technology ecosystem into customer engagements.
When a customer solution depends on technologies from the Vates ecosystem, you will support Vates presales and solution experts with integration and compatibility expertise, while working directly with solution architects and technical experts across our technology partners, integrators and MSP ecosystem.
You will understand the complete customer use case, design joint solutions, provide guidance on supported architectures and limitations, and engage the appropriate partner experts when deeper expertise is required.
You will also be a primary product and technical counterpart for Vates technology partners, working directly with their product managers and engineers to identify opportunities, resolve technical gaps and develop joint solutions.
Customer requirements, field feedback, partner product changes and Vates platform evolutions will all feed the integration portfolio. You will connect these signals and turn them into concrete integration, product or engineering actions.
Required Skills:
-The ability to understand customer infrastructure use cases and turn them into technical requirements;
-A good understanding of virtualization and datacenter infrastructure, with familiarity across compute, storage, backup, networking, security, observability or cloud infrastructure;
-Product-management discipline to manage requirements, priorities and lifecycle;
-A good understanding of APIs, systems integration and infrastructure automation;
-The ability to engage peer-to-peer with solution architects and technical experts across customers, technology partners, integrators and MSPs;
-Strong technical communication and documentation skills.

Profile required
You have a strong infrastructure engineering or technical product management background and can operate comfortably across several layers of a modern datacenter stack, don’t hesitate, apply now !
The ideal candidate profile is oriented towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or a related technical field.
You have solid experience (several years) in infrastructure engineering or technical product management and are comfortable with the various layers of modern data center infrastructure.
Experience in the fields of technology alliances, independent software vendors (ISVs), infrastructure solution providers, or open-source communities would be particularly relevant.
Fluent in English and French.
