* ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to act as the technical second-in-command of the engineering organization, working closely with the CTO to structure, manage, and grow the team while remaining hands-on in delivery.
This is a hybrid role between engineering management, technical leadership, and hands-on solution delivery. You will manage and mentor a team of engineers, oversee day-to-day technical execution, join customer-facing technical calls, and personally contribute to architecture, code, and integrations. You will be the natural point of continuity and escalation across the tech team, deputizing for engineering leadership as needed.
You should be comfortable working across the stack with Next.js, Laravel, NestJS, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud Platform, and equally comfortable leading people as you are shipping code.
* KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as second-in-command of the tech team, deputizing for the CTO and ensuring continuity of technical leadership and decision-making in their absence.
• Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, including performance reviews, career development, and day-to-day people management.
• Join technical calls with customers and partners to understand their systems, workflows, constraints, and integration needs.
• Design practical technical solutions for integrating our SaaS platform with customer environments.
• Build and maintain scalable web applications using Next.js and React.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and integrations using Laravel, NestJS, and TypeScript.
• Create proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and production-ready features to support customer integrations.
• Design, implement, and optimize clean, maintainable APIs and microservices.
• Work with product managers, engineers, and customer stakeholders to translate requirements into technical delivery, and hold the team accountable for execution.
• Own technical implementation plans, coordinate execution across the team, and ensure successful delivery.
• Contribute to architecture, system design, cloud infrastructure, and deployment decisions, and help define technical standards and best practices for the team.
• Write high-quality, tested, maintainable, and performant code across the stack.
Profile required
* REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, or full stack development.
• Proven experience managing or leading an engineering/technical team, including direct people-management responsibilities (performance, mentoring, hiring, career development).
• Demonstrated ability to operate as a second-in-command or deputy to engineering leadership, comfortable owning decisions and representing the tech team when needed.
• Strong experience with customer-facing technical work, SaaS integrations, API design, or implementation projects.
• Strong expertise in Next.js and React for frontend development.
• Proficiency in NestJS, TypeScript, Laravel, and PHP for backend development.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience working with relational databases.
• Ability to debug complex integration issues across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and customer systems.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage technical projects and a team from discovery to delivery.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across product, engineering, and customer teams.
