About the Role :
Our geoscience teams work with large volumes of technical information from multiple sources, including internal databases, scientific publications, exploration reports, industrial partners, historical archives, and geospatial datasets. Today, a significant portion of their time is spent searching, consolidating, and interpreting this information before they can generate valuable insights.
To accelerate this process, we are building a modern Data & AI platform and are looking for an AI/ML Engineer to design and deploy intelligent solutions powered by Large Language Models (LLMs) and advanced data processing techniques. Your work will enable our geologists and geophysicists to access internal knowledge through natural language, automate information retrieval, and unlock new ways of exploring complex geological data.
You will join a growing Data team where ownership, autonomy, and initiative are highly valued. As one of the first AI engineers in the team, you will have the opportunity to shape our technical architecture, influence technology choices, and deliver production-ready solutions with a direct impact on the business.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines for structured, unstructured, and geospatial datasets, including technical reports, seismic data, scientific publications, and historical archives.
- Develop AI applications based on Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented - - Generation (RAG) architectures to enable natural language access to internal knowledge.
- Build scalable document ingestion, semantic search, indexing, and retrieval pipelines.
- Design end-to-end AI and machine learning solutions, from data preparation to production deployment.
- Support the migration and evolution of our cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our proprietary geological modeling and seismic imaging software.
- Collaborate closely with geologists, geophysicists, and software engineers to translate business challenges into impactful AI solutions.
- Help define AI engineering best practices, technical standards, and architecture within the Data team.
Profile required
Must-have :
- 3+ years of experience in AI/ML Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, and unstructured data processing.
- Strong Python skills.
- Experience with AWS (S3, EC2, RDS) and PostgreSQL.
- Fluent in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI APIs, or similar GenAI frameworks.
- Knowledge of Docker, Databricks, and modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn).
- Familiarity with vector databases and MLOps practices.
- Experience with geospatial data (PostGIS, GeoPandas, GDAL, etc.) is a strong plus.
