The Role

The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager supports the organization in strengthening financial visibility, budget management, event delivery oversight and cross-departmental project execution. This role will play a key part in supporting senior leadership in financial decision making and ensuring alignment between strategic priorities, operational projects, and financial planning. Working transversally across the organization, and especially with the ISU Events Department, the successful candidate will contribute to financial planning cycles and financial performance monitoring across the organization. This position requires a highly analytical and structured professional who is comfortable working in an international environment and coordinating with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Financial Planning & Strategic Analysis
• Lead the preparation and consolidation of the ISU’s annual budget and financial forecasts.
• Provide financial analysis and scenario modelling to support strategic decision-making.
• Monitor organizational financial performance and highlight key variances, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop management dashboards and reporting tools to improve financial transparency across departments.
• Provide analysis and reporting for Council Meetings and Congress presentations.

Organizational Budget Coordination
• Work with department heads to ensure alignment between operational plans and financial resources.
• Track departmental budgets and provide regular financial updates to senior management.
• Support budget review processes and financial performance discussions.

Event Budget Analysis and Monitoring
• Support the ISU Events team in assessing budgets submitted by host candidates at event bid stage, ticketing models and pricing analysis.
• Sign off on event cash flow requirements.
• Drive adoption of centralized tools for event budgeting and monitoring.
• Work with external stakeholders fine-tuning event budgets throughout the lifecycle and monitoring performance against actual results.

Profile required


Essential Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, strategy consulting, or financial controlling.
• Experience in budget planning, financial modelling, and performance analysis.
• Ability to work across departments and manage multiple stakeholders.
• Advanced proficiency in financial analysis tools.
• Driven by technology adoption and process improvement
• Excellent communication skills in English (French is an asset).
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
