Do you think this could be you? To pursue our ambitious vision, we are looking for a Senior Vehicle Dynamics Engineer. In this position, you will own the dynamic behavior of core subsystems of our next-generation ultra-light deployable structures, from concept through qualification all the way to volume production, and help shape a growing engineering team alongside former SpaceX engineers.
Your mission will be to:
- Own the dynamic analysis of deployable structures and spacecraft subsystems, including attitude dynamics, deployment dynamics, modal behavior, and structural-dynamic coupling
- Drive design trades and analyses (rigid-body and flexible-body dynamics, vibration, modal survey correlation) from early concept through detailed design and test
- Get hands-on with hardware for modal testing, deployment dynamics testing, vibration/shock testing, and system integration
- Build robust, flight-proven solutions that meet aggressive mass and stability targets in demanding launch and orbital environments
- Define and execute the dynamic verification and validation strategies for your subsystems
- Mentor junior engineers and serve as a technical reference for dynamics analysis practices
Profile required
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in spacecraft dynamics, attitude and deployment dynamics, or NVH/structural dynamics in aerospace or automotive, ideally within a fast-paced New Space environment
- Multiple full development cycles under your belt: you have taken hardware from blank sheet to orbit, launch pad, or production more than once
- Deep expertise in multibody dynamics, modal analysis, vibration/shock environments, and correlation of models to test data
- Fluency with CAD (e.g. CATIA, Siemens NX) and dynamics/FEA tools (e.g. Adams, Simscape, NASTRAN); comfort with hand calculations to sanity-check results
- Strong analytical skills, a proactive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills and unbounded curiosity
- Autonomy, and a willingness to be fully responsible for a significant part of the finished product
- A proven track record of delivering reliable dynamic performance for harsh environments
- A willingness to mentor juniors and provide technical leadership for dynamics analysis practices
- Professional level English — further languages welcome
