Job description
ATMOS Space Cargo is looking for a Working Student in Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) to support our team in building, integrating, and testing our Phoenix spacecraft.
You will work closely with our AIT engineers and technicians and become part of the day-to-day spacecraft integration activities. The role offers the opportunity to gain continuous hands-on experience with real spaceflight hardware while completing your studies.
We are looking for someone who enjoys practical engineering work, works carefully, and wants to contribute directly to getting our spacecraft ready for flight.
Key responsibilities
- You will support day-to-day spacecraft assembly and integration activities
- You will prepare workstations, tools, equipment, materials, and hardware for integration activities
- You will assist with mechanical and electrical assembly work
- You will support incoming inspections, hardware checks, and documentation
- You will assist engineers during functional and environmental testing
- You will record test and integration results and maintain AIT documentation
- You will support the organization and continuous improvement of workshop and integration areas
- You will help identify and resolve practical issues during spacecraft assembly and testing
Profile required
- Currently enrolled in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical degree
- Strong interest in hands-on spacecraft engineering and testing
- Practical mindset and willingness to work directly with hardware
- Careful, reliable, and structured way of working
- Experience with mechanical/electrical tools, university workshops, student engineering projects, rocketry, Formula Student, robotics, or similar activities is a plus
- Fluent in English; German is a plus
Working hours: ideally 15–20 hours per week
