ATMOS Space Cargo is seeking aN Electrical Engineer (m/f/d) with a broad, hands-on background in electronics development. In this role, you will design, develop, integrate, and validate electrical and electronic systems from initial concept through prototype and series-ready implementation.
You will work across the complete electrical development lifecycle, including schematic design, PCB development, component selection, prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
Key responsibilities
- You will develop electrical and electronic concepts based on system and product requirements.
- You will create circuit diagrams and design analog and digital electronic circuits.
- You will design PCBs, including component placement, routing, design-rule checks, and preparation of manufacturing data.
- You will select and evaluate electronic components, connectors, sensors, actuators, power supplies, and interfaces.
- You will build, commission, test, and troubleshoot prototypes and electronic assemblies using appropriate laboratory equipment.
- You will perform design calculations, simulations, tolerance analyses, and technical trade-off assessments.
- You will support integration of electronic assemblies into larger systems and coordinate electrical interfaces with mechanical, software, and systems engineering.
- You will plan and conduct functional, environmental, reliability, and verification tests; analyze results and implement improvements.
- You will prepare and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, PCB files, bills of materials, test procedures, and verification records in accordance with engineering and quality standards.
Profile required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of practical experience in electrical or electronics development, ideally across several stages of the product development lifecycle.
- Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad or Autodesk Eagle.
- Sound general knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, power supplies, sensors, and common electrical interfaces.
- Experience selecting components and interpreting datasheets, specifications, and application notes.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and logic analyzers.
- Understanding of PCB manufacturing, assembly, design for manufacturability, and design for testability.
- Ability to work independently, structure technical problems, and develop practical solutions.
- Very good written and spoken English and German.

Preferred qualifications
- Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, communication interfaces, or basic firmware development.
- Knowledge of EMC-compatible design, electrical safety, grounding, shielding, and relevant engineering standards.
- Background in aerospace, robotics, automotive, industrial, or defense-related systems.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary engineering teams and collaborating with PCB manufacturers, assembly partners, suppliers, or test laboratories.
